Before drilling a well, detailed site work must be completed.  An access road, if necessary, must be laid to the site and the drilling area must be prepared conducive for a rig to be moved on and set up.  “Pits” must also be dug and lined to act as temporary storage for the waste water from the drilling process.

After the well is drilled, the land must be reclaimed and similar site work is then required for the separator and tank battery site.
